Benefits of attending

The South West board for the Chartered Institute of Housing are organising a residential leadership course to be held in September 2018 in Ilfracombe, North Devon.
 
This 2/3 day residential event is aimed at emerging and aspiring housing professionals and the programme will be a mixture of classroom based workshops and outdoor activities, both designed to stimulate team work and develop leadership skills. Delegates will learn new and useful techniques to help manage their new and increasing responsibilities in the workplace.

A full detailed programme will be available shortly. The personal development workshops within the programme will include:
• Coaching techniques
• Making the most of mentoring opportunities
• How social media can support your personal brand
• Organisational skills
• Housing Headlines
• Managing stress
• What makes a good manager?
• Managing Change
• Problem solving
• Relax with peers in a supportive and fun environment

The venue and location based at Ocean Backpackers in North Devon, offers a hands on experience where guests will participate in all the fun of communal living designed to build team spirit and deliver lasting peer support networks.

Delegates will need to advise of any mobility and dietary needs so that the accommodation, refreshments and programme can be tailored accordingly. All delegates will receive further information about arrangements regarding accommodation, outdoor activities, transport and equipment lists.

Participants are expected to “muck in” making and stripping their own beds, cleaning the facility and together making their own meals.

Who should attend

The target group are aspiring housing professionals who are part qualified, have recently qualified, retrained or in some way involved in CIH accreditation.
This will be a mixture of classroom based workshops and outdoor activities. Both are designed to stimulate team work and develop leadership skills.
Participants are expected to “muck in” making and stripping their own beds, cleaning the facility and together making their own meals.

Booking information

This event is £195.00 + VAT for members and £250.00 + VAT for non-members.

Please note if you cancel within 3 days of the event or do not attend you will be charged the full fee.

Non-members - If you are a non-member of CIH or if this is your first time using the website to book an event, click on book.
